Numbers before
you order.

Three calculators we use at the counter every day. They run in your browser, nothing is sent anywhere, and no one asks for your number.

01

Tile calculator

Room size in, exact box count out. Wastage covers cuts at edges, breakage and a small reserve for future repairs.

You need
9boxes
Floor area11.15 m² / 120 sq ft
Area with wastage12.26 m²
Tiles required35 tiles
Coverage per box1.44 m²

Boxes are rounded up. Buy from a single batch so shade and calibration match across the floor.

Pipe calculator

A planning estimate for a residential build, based on typical fixture counts and riser heights. Use it to budget and to sanity check a plumber's quantity, not as a substitute for the site drawing.

Estimated running length
630ft total
CPVC 15mm branches200 ft
CPVC 20 to 25mm mains120 ft
UPVC 32 to 50mm supply95 ft
SWR 75mm waste115 ft
SWR 110mm soil105 ft

Add roughly 30 percent in fittings by count, and order solvent cement at one 500ml tin per 300 ft of CPVC.

03

Tank calculator

Sizes storage against household demand and how long you want to survive a supply cut. Splitting between an underground sump and an overhead tank is normal, and the split below follows common practice.

Total storage
1,350litres
Daily demand675 L per day
Suggested overhead tank500 L
Suggested underground sump900 L
Nearest stocked sizes500 L overhead + 1,000 L sump

Check the terrace slab is designed for the filled weight. One litre is one kilogram, so a 1000 litre tank is a tonne standing on four feet.
